Wynn gets first gambling license in UAE! Planned to open in early 2027

2024-10-12 12:27

Recently, hotel and casino operator Wynn Resorts received the UAE’s first commercial gaming operator license. The UAE Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) confirmed the news to Khaleej Times on Saturday.

The Las Vegas-based casino company is building Wynn Al Marjan Island, the first integrated gaming resort in the Middle East and North Africa, in the United Arab Emirates. The project is expected to cost billions of dollars and will open to the public in early 2027. While Wynn Marjan Island's gaming facilities are highly anticipated, it will also offer non-gaming services, with 1,542 guest rooms and suites and 22 private villa estates. At present, GCGRA has not disclosed other details about the company’s commercial gaming license. It is reported that this is the second license issued by GCGRA. In July this year, the agency issued the UAE’s first lottery operating license to The Game LLC in Abu Dhabi.
